League Tennis:

League tennis is in full swing! Thanks to the wonderful work of Dr. Lou Buttino, this year’s spring league will be better than ever.  This is a record year for teams from The Westside Club! Anyone who would like to play on a team here should contact Alessandro, Cary or Christopher.  Also assisting is Tracy Penland, The Westside Club’s front desk director.  All the teams have been assigned practice times and matches have been scheduled. Any changes to these times can only be made by Tracy.  Make up match times must be approved by Tracy.

Pepe and Alessandro have lots of clinic options to choose from.  See the tennis bulletin board and website for more specific information.

The Junior Tennis Team:

Practice begins March 5 and will be conducted every Wednesday afternoon from 4pm to 5:30pm.  This clinic is designed to help players ages 8 to 17 who have good fundamental strokes learn how to drill and compete in tennis.  Practice will consist of rigorous foot work drills, hitting drills, playing drills, matches, and lots of repetitive stroke work. Strategy sessions will also be included in singles and doubles play.  Matches with other clubs will be arranged and a minimum of two junior tournaments will be selected for the players to attend with one or more coaches.      Assistance will be given on which tournaments to play and how to attain a state, sectional and national ranking.  The fee for this program is $20 a month, and players will be selected by Coaches Alessandro and Pepe.  If you have any questions about this program, please contact Alessandro, Pepe or Cary Davenport.

Free Indoor Tennis Time:

Free indoor tennis time is from Friday at 6pm to close, Saturday 1pm to close, and Sunday 10am to close.  Members may only reserve the court for one hour per day.

Plan to Re-surface Clay Courts:

Beginning in mid to late May we will resurface all 8 clay courts with a minimum of 2 tons of new clay.  All the canopies will also be replaced and the benches repaired.

Services

 We will continue to offer stringing here at the club. The front desk will have pricing and string samples for you to choose from when you leave your racquet to be strung. We also will offer a variety of racquet companies to choose from as we will be able to sell Head, Babolat,  Wilson and Prince  racquets.
